Terms of Use
Effective date: November 4, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Sonic Team West LLC ("we," "us"), which operates the BoonWatch app and boonwatch.com (together, "BoonWatch"). By using BoonWatch, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use BoonWatch.
1. What BoonWatch is
BoonWatch shows publicly available hazard information (such as National Weather Service alerts, air quality data, wildfire perimeters and hail outlooks) near locations you save, and can send you notifications about it.
2. Awareness only. Not an emergency service.
Awareness only. Follow official alerts and evacuation orders.
- BoonWatch is not an emergency alert system, a substitute for official warnings, or a source of evacuation instructions. It doesn't tell you whether a place is safe or unsafe.
- Data comes from third-party government sources. It can be delayed, preliminary, incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable. Air quality readings cover reporting areas, not your exact location. Mapped fire perimeters can lag behind an active fire. Hail outlooks are probabilities, not forecasts of damage.
- Notifications can be delayed or fail to arrive because of your device, settings, connection, app stores, push providers, data sources or our systems. No alert, or the absence of an alert, means you are safe.
- Always watch conditions yourself and follow instructions from local officials, the National Weather Service, emergency management and fire agencies. In an emergency, call 911.
You use BoonWatch at your own risk and are responsible for your own decisions about travel, camping and safety.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old to use BoonWatch. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission. You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your device secure.
4. Subscriptions and free trials
- BoonWatch offers a free plan and an optional paid subscription ("Pro"). Features and prices are shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If a free trial is offered and you don't cancel before it ends, you'll be charged for the subscription. Trial eligibility is decided by Apple or Google.
- Manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app or your BoonWatch account doesn't cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- We may change prices or features in the future. Price changes for existing subscribers follow Apple's and Google's notice rules.
5. Promo codes
Promo codes are for the people they were issued to. They can't be sold or exchanged for cash, may expire, and may be void if misused.
6. Acceptable use
Don't: misuse or disrupt BoonWatch; try to access other users' data or our systems without permission; scrape, resell or redistribute the service or its data feeds as your own product; reverse engineer the app except where the law allows; or use BoonWatch to break any law.
7. Third-party data and services
BoonWatch includes data from government agencies and maps from third-party providers. Those parties don't endorse BoonWatch, and we don't control their data. Source credits and links appear in the app. Your use of Apple, Google and other third-party services is governed by their own terms.
8. Our content and your license
BoonWatch, its design, software and branding belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and the app store's rules. Public government data stays subject to its original terms.
9. Changes, suspension and ending
We may update, change or stop any part of BoonWatch, including data sources and features. We may suspend or end access if you break these Terms. You can stop using BoonWatch and delete your account at any time. Sections 2, 8, 10, 11, 12 and 13 survive after these Terms end.
10. Disclaimers
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, BOONWATCH IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, TIMELINESS AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DON'T WARRANT THAT BOONWATCH OR ANY DATA OR NOTIFICATION WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, TIMELY, UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE AND OUR MEMBERS, MANAGERS, CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS WON'T BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE (INCLUDING DAMAGE TO VEHICLES, RVS, ROOFS OR SOLAR EQUIPMENT), LOSS OF DATA OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON BOONWATCH, INCLUDING ANY DELAYED, MISSING OR INACCURATE DATA OR NOTIFICATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR BOONWATCH IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $50. Some places don't allow certain limits, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Indemnity
If you misuse BoonWatch or break these Terms and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nevada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washoe County, Nevada, and you and we consent to that jurisdiction. Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court instead. Before filing a claim, please email hello@boonwatch.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
14. Apple-specific terms
If you got BoonWatch from Apple's App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app. To the extent allowed by law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may notify Apple for a refund of the purchase price, if any. Apple isn't responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you aren't located in a country subject to a US government embargo or on a US government restricted-party list.
15. General
If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You can't transfer these Terms; we may transfer them as part of a business change. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and any in-app purchase terms are the whole agreement between us about BoonWatch. We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app, and continuing to use BoonWatch after the change means you accept it.
